Selena Gomez Hair Color

Who says feathers are so faux pas? A silky, straight hair always looks stunning but adding a feathery touch to it would make you feel much better. It used to be that feather's are only used by devoted fly fishers as bait, but today, these feathers are popping in every fashionable girl's hair extensions. When "American Idol" judge and rocker Steve Tyler started showing up on screen with feathers in his long locks, other celebrities like, Selena Gomez, Hilary Duff and Kesha followed and were also spotted rockin' their feathery hair extensions. Feathered hair suddenly became Hollywood's newest hair trend and fly shop owners should have been alarmed.

Now, beautifully-colored as well as natural toned bird feathers are being woven into women's (and a few intrepid men) hair! Fly fishing shops are suddenly swamped by women and hair stylists clamoring to get their hands on today's hottest fashion accessory in town, fly feathers. Fly fishing feathers shops in New York are surprisingly running out of feathers as more and more customers are purchasing it to make a fashion statement. In fact, fly shops supplying the feathers can't keep up with the demand. Turns out, our trendy hair accessories are leaving the nation's fly fishermen high and dry.

But why these feathers? Well, these feathers that mostly come from genetically bred roosters are perfect for hair extensions because the feathers behave like human hair. Fly feathers are pliable and durable. They can be brushed, blow dried, straightened or curled and it can even be flat ironed. Those qualities are the reason why it appeals to hairdressers and women. The feathers can stay in the hair for months and can easily be managed.
